Earlier this week ABC and Marvel released a shiny new poster to promote the forthcoming ‘Agent Carter’ series, which follows the post war adventures of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Peggy Carter.
Haley Atwell reprises the role that she originated in Captain America: First Avenger for this brand new series.
As a fan of pulp action adventure series that are set in the 40s or just about any time period from the past. I’m really excited for the show and know that a lot of people feel the same.
We have seen hints of earlier S.H.I.E.L.D spy toys shows off in ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ thanks to the late Agent Triplets contribution to helping Coulson and the gang foil Hydras plans toward the close of the first season. I’m looking forward to seeing more of this gadgetry in ‘Agent Carter’ and how it will be used to thwart the Hydra of the late 40s post war era.
The series has been made all the more sweeter by the fact that Dominic Cooper will be reprising his role of Howard Stark the father of ‘Iron Mans’ Tony Stark. The onscreen chemistry between Atwell and Cooper in the first Captain America film was a lot of fun to see. So it be fun to if the two actors can recapture that.
The series is due to launch in the USA on 6 January and will run for the duration of the 8 week hiatus of ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D’
At present there is no date, time or UK broadcaster announced for the series, which in this day and age of the internet, which has made the world much smaller is pretty poor form by the UK broadcasters. Maybe Netflix UK or Amazon will nab it. Who knows?
