Showtimes hit series ‘Penny Dreadful’ has made some thrilling additions to its cast for the shows second season.
According to TV Line Tony-winning Broadway veteran Patti Lupone is to play a rather substantial guest role as “a mysterious character of great importance in Vanessa’s (Eva Green) past.” The actress’ previous TV credits include ‘Girls’, ‘American Horror Story: Coven’, ‘Oz’ and ‘Life Goes On’.
Also joining the cast for season two are Tony winner Douglas Hodge (playing Bartholomew Rusk, an intense Scotland Yard investigator), Vikings‘ Sarah Greene (as Evelyn Poole’s powerful daughter, Hecate) and newcomer Jonny Beauchamp (in the role of a young man with a singular past).
Additionally, Helen McCrory (who plays the aforementioned Evelyn Poole) and Simon Russell Beale (Ferdinand Lyle) have been promoted to series regulars for the coming season.
Production on the 10-episode Season 2 begins in September in Dublin.
