Over its five seasons ‘Game Of Thrones‘ has had numerous location changes and yet again is on the move.

Until now most of the scenery on the show has usually involved lots of snow. Gloomy rain and fairly dark mountainous terrain with the occasional soaking of blood and guts.

The shows sixth season though is turning the heat up with some of the location work being done in sunny Spain, which is well known for some exceptionally beautiful scenery. Trust me. Having been there a few times I know.

HBO has confirmed that the show will shoot at multiple locations, including the cities of Girona and Peñiscola.

Full details of the locations will be confirmed closer to the production dates later this year, beginning in late July.

Belfast is currently the location for the drama’s continent of Westeros, while the show has also travelled to countries including Croatia, Malta, Morocco and Iceland.

Game of Thrones will wrap its current fifth season later this month.
