UK Satellite and Cable channel Sky One is adding more superheroes to its already spandex heavy line – up.
Sky have announced plans to air ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ in the new year. This will add to its line – up, which includes ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’ and ‘Super Girl’.
The series, which is set to premier on The CW in the USA on January 21 centres on time traveler Rip Hunter, played by Arthur Darvill. In the series Hunter puts together a gang of heroes in order to take on the villainous Vandal Savage in a battle that will see the team cross through different time periods.
Casper Crump. Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell also star.
“Hot on the heels of the amazing success of Supergirl, I’m really pleased to announce that another exciting comic-book drama is coming to the channel,” said Sky 1 director Adam MacDonald. “From the team behind our three best-loved superhero shows and with a great high-profile cast, there’s real pedigree behind Legends of Tomorrow. And it’s set in the same world as The Flash and Arrow, too, so it couldn’t be more suited to Sky 1.”
Supergirl‘s recent launch drew a consolidated U.K. audience of 1.64 million – Sky 1’s largest for a series launch since 2013. Legends of Tomorrow is set to air on the channel some time in 2016. Hopefully it will premier in the UK a short time after the US premier.
