Young ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Actor Scores Role In ‘I am Elizabeth Smart’

Kiefer O'Reilly the young son of Rip Hunter in season 1 of Legends Of Tomorrow scores role in 'I Am Elizabeth Smart'

young up and coming star Kiefer O’Reilly was last seen by comic and science fiction fans in the first season of Legends Of Tomorrow in which he played Rip Hunters young son has scored himself a beefy role in the forthcoming Lifetime movie ‘I am Elizabeth Smart’

The Lifetime Network Drama is being produced by Smart who will narrate the movie, recalling from her perspective her harrowing kidnapping in 2002. The then 14-year-old Elizabeth was abducted from her Salt Lake City home by a religious fanatic who kept her in chains, starved, drugged, raped and subjected her to bizarre religious rituals for 9 months before she was able to enable her own rescue.

O’Reilly plays Edward Smart Jr. seen mostly in flashbacks and upon Elizabeth’s safe return home. This will be O’Reilly’s second movie for Lifetime playing the brother of a kidnapped and brutalized young girl. In 2016 O’Reilly portrayed Burke Ramsey in the telepic Who Killed JonBenét which explored the popular theory that he was his sister’s killer.

Sarah Walker will direct from a teleplay by Tory Walker. Production began in May in Vancouver.

Added to his serious dramatic role. O’Reilly will also be flexing his genre acting chops in a new series called ‘Howard Lovecraft & the Frozen Kingdom’, which is now a trilogy and ‘Howard Lovecraft & the Undersea Kingdom’ is currently in postproduction. In the role, O’Reilly is a magic user that is trained by Dr. Henry Armitage, voiced by Mark Hamill.
